NEW YORK — The National Hockey League today announced the odds for clubs participating in the 2022 NHL Draft Lottery, scheduled for Tuesday, May 10 at the NHL Network studio in Secaucus, NJ. The event will air live beginning at 6:30 pm ET on ESPN, ESPN+, Sportsnet, SN NOW and TVA Sports.
The 2022 NHL Draft Lottery will determine the drafting order of the top 16 picks in the first round of the 2022 NHL Draft. Entrants are all teams that did not qualify for the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs (or the teams that have acquired the first-round draft positions of those non-playoff teams).
REMINDER: The NHL announced changes to the Draft Lottery format on March 23, 2021. Among the changes that will take effect this season, there will be a limit on the total number of selections (10) that a team participating in the Draft Lottery can “ascend”. ” in the event of winning one of the Lottery Drawings. Therefore, only the top 11 seeds will be eligible to receive the first overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft.

*Under the terms of a July 23, 2021 trade, Chicago will transfer its first-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft to Columbus if it is not a top 2 pick. If he becomes a top 2 pick as a result of the Draft Lottery, Chicago will retain the pick and instead trade their first-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft to Columbus.
**Under the terms of a November 4, 2021 trade, Vegas will transfer its first-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft to Buffalo if it is not a top 10 pick. If he becomes a top 10 pick as a result of the Draft Lottery, Vegas will retain the pick and instead trade his first-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft to Buffalo.
The odds for the remaining teams will increase proportionally for the second lottery draw, based on the team that wins the first lottery draw.
The 14 teams not selected in the 2022 NHL Draft Lottery will be assigned the remaining 2022 NHL Draft selections (1st through 16th in the first round), in reverse order of regular season points .

The 2022 NHL Scouting Combine, showcasing the top draft-eligible North American and international prospects, will take place May 29-June 4 at KeyBank Center and LECOM Harborcenter in Buffalo, NY
The 2022 NHL Draft will take place at the Bell Centre, home of the Montreal Canadiens, over two days. Round 1 will take place on Thursday, July 7, followed by Rounds 2-7 on Friday, July 8.
