Arsenal have opened talks with Gabriel Jesus’ agent about a move in the summer, and things look hopeful for the Gunners.
According to Goal, Arsenal director Edu Gaspar has met with Gabriel Jesus’ agent, Paulo Pitombeir, with a view to starting the process to bring the Brazilian to the Emirates. The Manchester City striker will enter the final year of his contract at the Etihad, with things quite open at the moment.
Gabriel Jesus has shown his mercurial attributes during his many years at Manchester City. The forward, still only 25 years old, has a long career ahead of him, but he is looking to be a regular starter, something that has not happened at the Etihad. Hence, the striker is prepared to leave the Premier League champion in the summer.
Manchester City were reportedly open to offers last summer when they went after Harry Kane from Tottenham. Faced with the impossibility of the England captain passing next to Pep Guardiola, the Premier League champions decided to continue with Jesus as the only recognized striker.
Things could change in the upcoming summer window as Manchester City are set to sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund. The Norwegian’s arrival will likely end Jesus’ time at the club, as Guardiola’s side would be open to receiving offers for the Brazilian.

Jesús has only started in 17 of the 24 games he has starred in in the Premier League. He broke four goals against Watford at the weekend. As it is, the club can take advantage of the Brazilian, and there are some teams interested in signing the striker.
Arsenal is interested in signing the Brazilian. There have been no talks between the clubs so far, which could start when Arsenal know the player wants the move. Personal terms could be agreed between this period, as the Gunners appear to be moving in the right direction.
According to the latest reports, Edu Gaspar met with Jesus’ agent, Paulo Pitombeir, and opened talks about a possible move. The striker’s representative could act as an intermediary between the two clubs when they start formal talks.
Jesus is being lined up as a replacement for Alexandre Lacazette, who could depart on a free transfer in the summer. The Gunners could be looking to bring in another striker, with the likes of Darwin Nunez mentioned as a prime target for the North Londoners.
As for Jesus, he could be available at a reasonable cost considering he only has one year left on his contract after the current season ends. He’s proven in the Premier League, which could be an added bonus for Arsenal, and considering the price he can fetch, he’ll be a good deal for North Londoners.
