Finland United States IIHF Hockey World Championship Semifinal

Finland held on for a 4-3 victory over the United States in the semifinals of the IIHF Men’s World Championship on Saturday.

The host nation will face either Canada or the Czechia, who will battle it out in the other semi-final match later on Saturday.

Miro Heiskanen, Sakari Manninen, Sami Vatanen and Joel Armia scored for Finland.

Nate Schmidt, Sean Farrell and Adam Gaudette were the top scorers for the United States.

Gaudette’s goal brought the United States within one with just under three minutes remaining.

The United States outscored Finland 28-26.

The gold and bronze matches will take place on Sunday in Tampere, Finland.
