Bodo/Glimt star Ola Solbakken is reportedly a transfer target from Celtic, IF the club cannot reach a deal with Jota.
The Premiership leaders have the option to buy the winger from Benfica when his loan ends this summer, but the deal is contingent on the 23-year-old agreeing to a permanent move to Glasgow.
And the Daily Mail Celtic report has identified Solkbakken, whose contract expires at the end of December 2022, as an alternative.
He claimed a goal and an assist from two legs as Bodo eliminated Ange Postecoglou’s side from the Europa Conference League earlier this season.
Celtic were reported to have turned down the chance to sign the 23-year-old Norwegian last summer, but it is now claimed that they will “rekindle” that interest if Jota decides not to return to Parkhead.
The Portuguese star has been a huge hit with fans as his team is on the brink of reclaiming the league title.
However, after Sunday’s crucial win over Ross County, he insisted he was not yet ready to talk about his future.
Jota told Sky Sports: “There’s no chance I’m thinking about next season. I’m just enjoying the day to day.”
“It’s been a great season for me and I’m enjoying getting to know the people around me. I’m trying to be a better player and I’m with better quality players every day.”
“I do not want to talk about that. I just want to enjoy and give everything for this shirt.
“As a football player, you have to keep your mind on the field, that’s all. Bureaucratic things are for others. Please let me enjoy my football.”
