West Ham youngster says Tottenham’s Parrott is ‘incredible’

20-year-old Tottenham striker Troy Parrott is currently away on international duty with the senior Republic of Ireland side.

His countryman and loan teammate at Milton Keynes Dons, Conor Coventry, is with the Under-21 side and has lavished praise on the frontman.

Coventry is also on loan at Stadium:MK, from Spurs’ London rivals West Ham and as per the MK Citizen, he had plenty of good things to say about Parrott.

“Troy is class,” he said.

“Obviously, I played with him before so I know his quality. I’m not surprised by how good he is.

My Europa League Predictions.

“The way he’s been working for the team has been incredible, and it shows that he is still developing and learning. He’s a quality player and I’m just happy to play with him every week.”

Parrott has been talked about since very early on in his fledgling career as a potential back-up Tottenham striker to Harry Kane, without breaking the bank.

The fact that this is his third loan spell underlines that talk was premature, but he is doing well in League 1, with six goals and as many assists to his name this term.

Parrott got a one-minute cameo in the Republic of Ireland’s 2-2 draw with Belgium on Saturday and playing against that caliber of players will give him a taste for more.

It seems there is plenty more to come from the striker, who is part of a bright generation of Irish talent who will be hoping to change his country’s fortunes.
